Welcome to the official website of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Promotion Capacity Building in Child and Adolescent Health. This part of the website is dedicated to Professionals committed everyday to the implementation of health promotion initiatives, as well as to the Institutions they belong to.
The Collaborating Centre, located within the Health Promotion Programme of the Anna Meyer University Children's Hospital in Florence, was created in light of the WHO and UN priorities reflecting the increasing need for action to address the socio-economic determinants of child and adolescent health. The Collaborating Centre was officially designated in May 2006.
Its activities are developed in strong collaboration with the WHO European Office for Investment for Health and Development (Venice) and with the Special Programme on Health and Environment WHO European Centre for Environment and Health (Rome).
:: The Collaborating Centre's terms of reference
1. To assist the WHO and partners in collecting knowledge on the social determinants of child and adolescent health, and in generating strategic evidence and tools for promoting equity and improving the health conditions of children and adolescents.
