The WHO-HPH Task force on Health promotion for children and adolescents in & by hospitals (HPH-CA) has built up this Observatory, taking into account the orientations of the international Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) network and the WHO strategies on child and adolescent health and development.
The Observatory aims to improve practice in the field of children and adolescent health promotion through:
- recognition
- evaluation
- dissemination of the good health promotion practices.
The Observatory is based on the Template for Description of Good Practices, adopted in April 2007 by the Task force and it represents
a tool to better understand and define the role, which hospitals can and should play in child and adolescent health promotion, beyond the provision of health care services.
The specific aims of the Observatory are:
1. to realize an easy and immediate interface (database on web) to collect information on existing practices;
2. to organize and maintain an on-line database to insert or access practice information;
3. to make the collected practices accessible for users;
4. to evaluate the quality of the collected experiences;
5. to disseminate good health promotion practices with regard to this field, by sharing experiences supporting the exchange of ideas within and outside of the HPH network, among staff working in paediatric hospitals and paediatric departments and other health care providers, practitioners, care-givers, policy makers and researchers;
6. to promote evidence-based health promotion activities.
Please submit your practice description, following the online template and filling in each box. At the end please remember to confirm your data.
We will collect the information on the good practice you describe and we would like to publish it on this website, after adequate evaluation. For this reason we kindly ask for your formal authorization in order to publish all the information gathered. We will consider as formal authorization the confirmation required in the last box you will find inside the form.
Thank you very much for your collaboration.
