Could you please describe to us your actual working position and how you became involved in the WHO/HBSC Forum 2007 process? Dr. Maruke Yeghiyan is the President of the Association of Child Psychiatrists and Psychologists (ACPP) in Armenia. He is a professor of the Department of Psychiatry of the Yerevan State University. My colleagues in the Arabkir Joint Medical Center, Institute Pediatry of Armenia in Yerevan asked me if I could participate in this event and so I joined this very important project.
Can you please describe the case study drafting process, since November 2006 until present? We prepared it together with the organization I have just mentioned. It was about our experience, because I am the President of the Armenian association of Child Psychiatrists and Psychologists (ACPP) and we had some data which we have derived from different projects, including Global Child Mental Health project, which was sponsored by the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) also of course our clinical data. These data were actually at the baseline for the report.
What were the steps for identifying co-authors?
We have colleagues from the Institute of Pediatry of Armenia and colleagues from the Department of Psychiatry of the Yerevan State University and from the Association of Child Psychiatrists and Psychologists (ACPP), who were all involved in the case study preparation.
Did you hold meetings to jointly define the content of the study?
Approximately one time a month we held meetings in order to discuss together the situation.
Did you participate in the case study review meeting in the Canary Islands, and how did it influence the evolution of the study?
Yes, I participated in the case study review meeting, together with Dr. Sergey Sargsyan, Head of the National Centre for Child Health Care Organization and Methodology of the Institute of Child and Adolescent Health of Armenia.
Was the study peer reviewed at a national level?
Yes, it was.
Was the case study content presented at any national meeting /event either before or after the Forum?
It was presented before and after the Forum. It has been presented in different conferences, of course in Yerevan, and also in other countries, prior to the Forum at Canary.
Did being involved in the case study drafting process benefit your work? If so, how?
Yes, of course. Because I usually work with child and adolescent health, and the case study was very useful for us, giving us the opportunity to have a comparison between our country and other countries, we were also able to understand whether we are on the right track in CAMH organization.
Did you participate in the WHO HBSC Forum 2007 event in Viareggio? In general, how relevant/useful would you consider the event?
Yes. I was there together with my colleagues dr. Samvel Torosyan and dr.Segey Sargsyan, pediatrician, and also with other colleagues from the same institution. We were four participants at this event. Yes it was relevant to me , I think those meetings can be more useful if there are organized frequently.
